Wurastories
Hello madam, how are you doing?
Madam Grace
I am doing fine, and you?
Wurastories
I am fine, thank you ma. I am here for the story you will like to share with me.
 Madam Grace
Alright, you are welcome.  I will like to share the story of how my fantasy almost robbed me of my invaluable jewel.
Wurastories
Tell me, what was your fantasy?
 Madam Grace
I grew up to love women driving cars. Whenever I saw women driving cars, I was always moved and I desired such. So it became something I wanted, something I wished, something I desired. Looking at myself then, I could not afford it, so I began to think about marrying a man who was rich enough to buy me a car. The whole of my heart was centered round a man who will be able to get me a car than the one who will love me or be a companion.
Wurastories
 Did it come true?
Madam Grace
It came true but not in the way I thought of it.
 Wurastories
 How?
Madam Grace
As at then, the gentlemen that were coming to me for courtship were not the ones that could give me a car. I don’t really know why. They were good guys; handsome, well-mannered but they could not give me the car.
Wurastories
Were they not rich enough?
Madam Grace
No, they were not. They were gentlemen who were starting out in life as career men or starting their own businesses. I met two guys who had the money, but they were not really my stuff. For the love of car, I followed them but their life was destroying mine, full of abuse and emptiness. I tried to move on but something seemed to pull me out. It was more of sacrificing me for a car.
One of those gentlemen coming to ask me out was Dave. He knew what he wanted and was always straight to his point. He was of average height but taller than me. He had glittering dark color. His eyes always reflect his mind so he could not hide his mind. I could see that he loved me and he told me he was for real. I loved him too but my fantasy was suppressing the feeling. He was a young man working in a food production company. I looked at him and did not see him having wheel on his hands for years to come talk less of buying for me. I didn’t give him the best of attention; sometimes I followed him out to catch fun and made him know he was a friend. I friend zoned him. I was waiting for a man that could give me a car. After about six months, Dave started giving me less attention.
Wurastories
It was obvious you were not ready for him.
Madam Grace
It was kind of a battle. Battle between the truth –I love him- and fantasy. I love him, he was one person I like to share my life with but my fantasy was kind of casting him off. He didn’t have the money. So whenever his love wanted to come up, fantasy will cast it down. It will be like, there can still be a man like him with the money. So when he was drifting away, not calling as he used to, not giving attention as he used to, not sending messages like before, the battle came up strong, I was so worried, the true love in me was thirsty for him. One night, I woke up with a strong conviction in my spirit. It was simply telling me to choose reality above fantasy, that I was allowing what I dreamt off to deprive me of what I knew I was good for me. It was like telling me I was losing someone I needed in my life. I tried to think of it but sleep played it prank on me, I slept off.
Wurastories
Did you allowed the truth to prevail?
Madam Grace
I did. I just had to fight off the fantasy. It had become like a spirit weighing me down even when I wanted to move. I shyly found my way back to the man leaving me. I responded to his few calls more excitedly. I sent him messages on my own. I showed on my own that I cared. He got the signal and came back bit by bit. He invited me on a date and it was different from what we had been having. This time, I was excited, free and it was obvious I wanted him and I got what I wanted. He embraced me with his hands opened and we moved on from there.
Wurastories
Wow! That was a bold step from you and a good response from him.
Madam Grace
Since then I have no regret. He is just my man. If I can say, he was made for me. I made him know and feel it. I love him. He is simply beautiful. I thank my goodness that I did not miss him.
He was ready for things so he didn’t waste time, six months after that, we got married, no car, settled in a self-contain but he was splendid and having him satisfied me.
Wurastories
What about your fantasy?
Madam Grace
I still saw women driving cars, I still love it but it stopped been my priority. You see, it later dawn on me that I could actually buy a car by myself so why hook my like to unloving people for car sake. This came to me after I fought fantasy for reality.
A year after our wedding, that was about two months after welcoming Dave jnr, my husband hit a break. His uncle in government awarded a contract to him and it yielded good profit. It brought a financial turn around in our life. The first thing he did for me was to buy me the car I like. I cried!
Wurastories
Why the cry?
Madam Grace
I cried because it never came to me that he could buy a car for me as at the time he came to me. I would have lost the one who I call invaluable because of car and there he was giving me a car I liked. I was deeply grateful to him and poured my love on him through words. In him I found my fantasy come true. Over ten years now, I have used different cars yet I have not bought one with my money. He changes them for me at his will and I am grateful.
Wurastories
What will you say to people who allow their fantasies to have the best of them?
Madam Grace
It is good to desire good things but we must never allow it to get the best of us and silent our true thirst. I longed for Dave but my fantasy was pinning me down. May be I might not have found a personality like him if I had just allow my fantasy get the best of me. I am happy now that I have him even beyond all cars he can ever gift me.
Wurastories
I am so happy you didn't miss Mr. Dave. It would have hunting you for a long time.
Madam Grace
I am grateful for that.
Wurastories
